Typography

Body, display, and UI are set in Source Sans 3 (Adobe, OFL) — a single variable font carrying the whole register at two weights, 400 for prose and 500 for emphasis. Code, tag chips, citation pills, and file paths are set in JetBrains Mono. Both ship as one variable woff2 per family. Prose is measured and balanced with pretext — canvas text measurement rather than DOM reflow — through the pretext-typography plugin, so line breaking matches what the browser ultimately paints.

Colour & tokens

The palette is defined in OKLCH for perceptually-even lightness, warm-dark by default — a warm neutral, never pure black or grey — with a paired light mode. Surfaces, text, accents, semantic states, spacing, radii, and the seven tag namespaces are all CSS custom properties. A mirror set, emdash-tokens, lifts the same values into a typed object so the chart, diagram, and graphics plugins render SVG that themes identically to the CSS surface.

Stack

The candidate Next foundation serves these public chrome leaves as page-shaped BFF DTOs (tier + generation). Live Astro over EmDash remains the shipping edge through P10; writes stay mediated by Hermes over MCP. Visual primitives come from EmDash plugins — emdash-charts, emdash-diagrams, emdash-graphics — retained across the cutover.

Icons

The long tail of UI glyphs is themed Phosphor Light. The identity-bearing marks — namespace marks, collection icons, tracker-kind and signal glyphs, the Hermes agent portraits, and the Emesdos wordmark — are a bespoke catalogue. Both are served through the emdash-icons plugin.
